Leadership End-of-the-Year Party

Last week the Leadership Team had their end of the year party and boy did we have some good laughs!!! It's hard to believe the year has already come to an end... It seems like just yesterday we were starting the fall 2008 session of M2M and meeting so many new faces for the new year! Melissa Johnson, our hostess with the mostess, graciously opened up her house for us for a night of food, fun, games, laughs and fellowship. We played a game of Catch Phrase first and Team 1 just barely won, barely!! Next it was Fact or Crap - yes that's the name of the game!! It was an absolute blast! I think all of our stomach muscles hurt after playing the 2 games with our group we had going - it was hysterical!! While we're all missing our Wednesday mornings together for the next couple of months but we're anxiously looking forward to September and what our new year of Mom2Mom will bring!!

* Crissy and Raylene *

* Carrie & Danielle *

* Marcy & Jessica *

* Rhonda, Kristin & Shannon *

* Marilyn and Catch Phrase *

* Kerri looks deep in thought... *

* Yes it is a real game!! *

Here's a clip of Fact or Crap in action - Crissy thought I was trying to take a picture and kept posing, LOL. What a load of crap!!

* Be on the lookout for Mom2Mom Evites and emails during our summer break.

Love and Blessings,
Holly

Bridgette Ridenour - COME ON DOWN!!!

In case you haven't heard, Bridgette Ridenour, our infamous event coordinator for Mom2Mom was a BIG winner on the Price is Right. A group of about 25 moms from our group went to the show a few weeks ago and had an amazing time. Some went up the day before and enjoyed a kid-free overnighter while the others joined them bright and early on Monday morning. Luckily they didn't have to get there too early to stand in the long line but all had to go through an interview process answering questions so they could get to know you and your personality. The show started and Bridgette was among the first group to make it up onto contestants row! She bid on a BBQ and got the closest without going over!!! The game she played was "Ten Chances" and she ended up winning a digital camera...a tea set... and.... A CAR!!!! Way to go Bridgette!!! We're all so excited for you!!! What a blessing!!!!!

Melissa Johnson hosted a viewing party the day the show was scheduled to air and invited everyone over to watch and swim and enjoy each others company that we've been missing on Wednesday mornings. President Obama had other plans that morning and interrupted the first half of the Price is Right for some sort of special announcement... bummer!! Luckily we could all still watch her segment online but it wasn't the same. We had quite a few ladies and lots of kids come and the excitement was in the air! Thank you Kameron for taking pictures for me while I had to work that morning...

Beth Moore study on the book of Esther

Hi Ladies!

Just wanted to remind you about the studies we have going on at the church this summer. We'll be studying the book of Esther by Beth Moore.

Join us in an in-depth and very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance. If you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. We will peel back the layers of history and see how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to us. This portion of God’s Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried and pressured lives.

This 10-week, interactive study features personal, daily assignments and weekly small group sessions with video.

Mondays, June 29th thru August 31st ~ 6:30 - 8:30 PM ~ Room 200 (no childcare)

Thursdays, July 2nd thru September 3rd ~ 9 - 11:30 AM ~ Room 202 (children's programming available for ages 0-5)

Registration and materials is $20.

For more information you can contact Women's Ministries at 200-2000 ext. 2269

Year-end Celebration!

What a fantastic way to end our year! As usual, the mentor moms truly outdid themselves! They made us feel special, honored, and loved this morning. The tea party theme was so fun and I love how they incorporated the many hats that us moms wear throughout the day in their cute skit. Everything was so beautiful- the food, presentation, gifts, prizes, and fellowship. I've heard other women say this before and I have to wholeheartedly agree that M2M is the best thing going in the desert for moms! I think my favorite part of the morning was hearing all of your testimonies and how this ministry has helped to bless so many of you. What an amazing God we serve and the fact that we can come together as moms and have a place to encourage and support one another, while seeking God's will for our lives is a priceless gift! I sincerely hope that each one of you will come back in September. Who knows, maybe you'll even ask a friend to come with you?

Enjoy your summer break, ladies!

Love and blessings to you all!

*Would you please join me in welcoming Holly Priest to the new role of Publicity for next year? It has truly been my privilege to serve in this capacity, here at M2M. Tiffany Holcomb

Thank you to Tiffany who so gracefully shared her testimony with us this morning. I loved how she started out with what she knew to be the promises of God. For me, each promise was a gentle reminder of all that we are in God's eyes. It was also a great recap of everything that we've learned and touched on throughout our session at Mom2Mom. Some things that stood out for me...

-God often meets us at the most broken moments in our lives, when we can no longer walk on our own.

-He is a true Gentleman and will wait at the door until He is asked to come in.

-The darkest and most confusing time in our lives often leads to the greatest revelation of who God really is.

-God is full of grace, mercy, tenderness and forgiveness. He is not a God who intimidates with guilt, shame and wrath.

-More than anything, God desires a relationship with us over any organized religion.

-When we come to Him in genuine repentance, we will be forgiven and free. He keeps no record of wrongs.

-Grace, what a beautiful and priceless gift!

-Jesus is the only thing that can fill that void in our hearts. We were made to worship Him.

-Lastly, our past does not define who we are, only Jesus does.

I also loved how she took 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and substituted the word God for love...

"God is patient, God is kind. He does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. God does not dishonor others, He is not self-seeking, He is not easily angered. God keeps no record of wrongs. He does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. God never fails."

Thank you, Tiffany for sharing your story and your heart with us this morning. Your passion for knowing and claiming God's word is both inspiring and contagious! May the Lord continue to bless you and your family abundantly.

Worship Day

Worship day rocks! There's nothing better than worship music to bring our focus back to the Lord and renew our weary spirits. I don't know about you but I've been tired lately. My girls and I have been sick (on and off) for the past two weeks. I'm happy to say that we are finally on the mend now but as we all know, a sick house is no fun! In addition to being housebound, I've desperately missed being able to go to church as well. Needless to say, I was craving today's worship and wished that it could have gone on and on! Thank you, Scotty for blessing us with your gift of music this morning!

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. ~Psalm 28:7
